Packhorse Track – Crossing the Pennines!

Wouldn’t it be great to have a Heritage Trail through the Yorkshire Colne valley, telling people about our fantastic travel history? How our forebears travelled through the Pennines – and why!  Through Slawit and Marsden, along
the ancient highways, packhorse tracks and canal towpath… it would link with the ‘Boat Lane’ over to Saddleworth, too.

Extending our ‘summerwine’ walk to the Stanza Stone on Pule Hill and the ‘Blind Jack’ milestone at Badger Gate:
